MEDITATION - MY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Understanding Meditation: A Journey to Inner Peace

In the Bhagavad Gita, meditation is referred to as "Dhyana". It is a practice of focusing the mind and attaining a state of deep contemplation and spiritual awareness. The Gita describes different aspects of meditation and its significance in attaining self-realization and union with the divine. Here are a few key teachings on meditation from the Bhagavad Gita: In Chapter 6/10 (Abhyas Yog ) of Bhagwat Gita it has been clearly mentioned :
" yogī yuñjīta satatam ātmānaṁ rahasi sthitaḥ ekākī yata-chittātmā nirāśhīr aparigrahaḥ" Means those who seek the state of Yoga should reside in seclusion, constantly engaged in meditation with a controlled body and mind, getting rid of desires and possessions for enjoyment.

NOW HOW CAN WE PREPARE OURSELVES FOR MEDITATION?

A lifestyle that is favorable to meditation is essential for good meditation. With it, the mind would always be thinking about different things, making meditation possible. Following the suggested steps after adjusting your lifestyle makes meditation feasible with some perseverance. The rewards are so great that everything is worth it. Now, we intend to focus on the past and future because of our strong identity with and attachment to our lives and what we perceive to be essential to them, such as money, employment, and family. We feel a lot of remorse and sorrow for our previous actions. We harbor resentments towards other people, events, and even God because of what has occurred to us in the past. Future-related worry and anxiety consume us. If we don't at least partially address these, these ideas will come to mind when we close our eyes. Karma Yoga should be used to treat these psychological flaws or complexes. The universe is in a state of order. Our prior intents and deeds are to blame for what we are dealing with now. People that mistreated us were only reaping the consequences of our own prior behavior. We only receive what we merit. Therefore, holding grudges against anyone is pointless. A person always does what they believe to be the correct thing. If we have ever done something foolish, it was because we believed it to be the wisest course of action at the time, or at the very least, that it was acceptable. We only need to apologize to those who were impacted and make a commitment not to repeat it instead of feeling guilty. Others can also use the same principle. Someone acted in a way they later decided was acceptable. If we disagree and believe it is inappropriate, then our understandings are different. Either we need to find a solution or simply forget about it. Others can also use the same principle. Someone acted in a way they later decided was acceptable. If we disagree and believe it is inappropriate, then our understandings are different. Either we need to find a solution or simply forget about it. Therefore, we must completely absolve everyone—including ourselves—of whatever we did in the past. The future is decided by what we do now. Therefore, there is no reason to worry about the future. To be decent people, we just need to wish everyone well, assist them as much as we can, fulfill our obligations, and strive diligently to be constructive. Deeply integrating them enables us to let go of all resentments, regrets, and worries. Everything that occurs may be viewed as a gift from God, and everything we do can be presented to Him as a gift. The term for this is Karma Yoga. To some extent, having this is required to be able to meditate.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO TO START MEDITATION?

Moderation is required in all areas of life, including eating, sleeping, working, and enjoyment. When we sit for meditation, too much eating, too little sleep, too much exercise, and not enough entertainment will make us feel exhausted and drowsy. Too little food, too much sleep, too little exercise, and too much entertainment all dull the mind and prevent us from being able to concentrate on anything. Here, moderation is advised. While taking your food, it is always to be kept in mind that you should take your food 2/3rd, 1/3 of water and the remaining 1/3 for air space so that proper digestion takes place.  Based on what keeps us attentive and concentrated during meditation, we must determine the appropriate quantity for us. We ought to live structured, disciplined lives. To help us get our to-do lists off of our minds when meditating, we should establish a method that is completely spelled down. If we don't have this, we'll be worried about what to do. When we meditate, they will keep our thoughts busy and prevent us from losing them.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF MEDITATION?

We should pick a location that offers some peace and quiet. It should be a tidy space without any obnoxious odors or a stuffy atmosphere. The seat needs to be secure. It must not be very high. It shouldn't be too low if the location is outside or where there may be insects so that they may crawl beneath without disturbing us. Both a firm and soft seat are acceptable. The earth should be thermally insulated from it. If you are on a hill, then the place to be checked correctly. Therefore, our sages told us repeatedly that place should be either any corner of your home or a place to sit near your home so that your mind does not deviate. To ensure that no muscles are tense, we should sit upright with the head, neck, and body in a vertical line(straight). It ought to be in a calm position. In this posture, we should be able to fully ignore the body. The eyes should be slightly closed as if gazing within the closed eyelids at the tip of the nose. Concentrate your mind in a particular spot without diverting your mind. Your mind will definitely be diverted, but you should try hard to bring back your mind to the previous spot. Concentrate on the same spot until your mind is fixed on that spot. From my experience at the early stage of practicing meditation, I drew a square with black ink in a circular form and placed a white spot at the center. Kept my eyes fixed on the white point as much as I could and suddenly I found a START LIKE BRIGHT LIGHT REVOLVING SPEEDILY ENCIRCLING THE BLACE CIRCLE. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT BECAME BRIGHTER AND SOMETIMES IT BECAME DIM. It was an amazing experience in my life. I Concentrated my mind as much as I could see on that Bright Light for a longer time for my satisfaction and that was my  Goal.
